Synopsis:

"A star for every moment we live together. A meaning that only the two of us can share. Together, these will be the constellations of our lives.

This is a story of love, dreams and life. It is the story of Valentina, the girl who didn't know she had the world at her feet, who grew up and began to think about the impossible. Valentina, the one who hunted for stars, the one who always wanted more, and the one who, one day, crossed paths with him.

He is Gabriel, the boy who drew constellations, fearless and idealistic. The one who believed in the words "forever. The one who allowed the past, the present, and the memories of all that were to become real - as real as the stars.

The Return of Alice Kellen is a small piece of the story of a country, of a generation, and of two characters who loved each other through the good times and the bad, while drawing together the constellations of their lives. "This is still my most personal novel, and also the one that has given me the most joy, because I never expected anything from this story that, after all, you have made your own. I did it while going through one of the most difficult times of my life; now all that is behind me and has made me stronger, more empathetic and sensitive. However, at that time, stuck between December and January of a winter that seemed never ending, the letters became a safe haven."

Opinion:

I already knew other books by the author, I had the opportunity to read two of the four books that the author has, these being "All We Never Were" and "All We Are Together" (I haven't had a chance to review them yet, because I have to reread them, I remember some things and others I don't, and since it's been a while I prefer to do a little review).

This book left me surprised and at the same time "devastated" (in a good way). My cousin Claudia gave it to me for Christmas. It was already on my whislist since the book was released (analyzing well, which books are not on the wishlist?) 😅

The book is small, very easy and fast to read, I read it in 4 hours (with breaks in between, of course), it has 184 pages, has a super simple cover, intuitive, that is, it has an old typewriter which I can calculate that addresses some writer or letters, and the flowers in my view represent hope, however does not unveil the content of the whole story, because it has many surprises and has romance as literary genre.

It is a book a little different from what I am used to reading, it portrays the long life of a couple, with many ups and downs, some misunderstanding (as usual), but above all a lot of love. It shows how difficult the old days were, and that despite all the adversities we may have in life, we can be happy next to another person, applying love, dedication, honesty, affection, trust, understanding and mutual recognition (...and so on...), after all, one is the support of the other in good and bad times. It also reminds us of the importance of family, that work is an important part, but not more important than family and our health (I leave some excerpts below).

The ending of the book was heartbreaking, I cried like compulsively. 😭

I recommend reading this wonderful book 🥰

"Work is an important part of life, fundamental, but don't let it take everything else away from you"
