Synopsis:

"Lina has gone to spend the summer in Tuscany, but not to enjoy its famous sunsets or idyllic scenery. No, she is not in the mood for that. The only reason that brought her to this beautiful region was to fulfill her mother's last wish: that Lina meet her father. But what kind of father disappears for 16 years?

All she wants to do is get it over with and come home. But the discovery of the diary of her mother's life in Italy will change everything. And suddenly Lina will know a magical world of forbidden loves, Renaissance art and secret bakeries.

A world that leads her and her new friend Ren (a funny and charming half-Italian, half-American) to follow in her mother's footsteps and to unearth a secret that has been kept for too long. A secret that will transform everything she thought she knew about her mother, her father, and even herself. Lina then discovers that people usually go to Italy in search of love and gelato, but sometimes they find so much more."

Opinion:

This book was given to me by my boyfriend on my birthday which I really appreciate 🥰, because the best gift you can give is books and besides giving me this one, it included the book "Love and Luck" and "Love and Santorini" which had been on my whislist for a while 🤭.

"Love and Gelato" was a book that has been with me from one year to the next, my goal was to finish reading it before midnight of 31.12.2022 but I was so tired that I ended up leaving it aside and went to sleep, I didn't even see the fireworks (something I kind of like, but I don't like to celebrate the change of year).

The cover of the book is super simple and sweet, it has two ice creams that besides representing the ice cream itself can also represent the love of two people, and the way it is written Gelato we can tell that it doesn't take place anywhere, but in Italy! 😍 It's a simple book, with no repetitions and it always has new events, it also includes some funny things, it has 320 pages that read very well, the size and the font are accessible and its literary genre is romance.

Funny that I've been reading several novels lately (I guess it goes depending on the mood 😅), it took me 5 days to read the book, not bad at all.

I had already seen the Netflix series and found it interesting, but the book I think is a thousand times better! Something I didn't expect was the place where Lina went to live, it clearly doesn't appear that way in the movie, there was a lot of excitement, adventures and new discoveries, I could travel a little bit to Italy and learn or try to read the things that were there in Italian which was kind of funny.

I am very curious about the following books.

I highly recommend this book!
